Bio

As a kid growing up in North Potomac, MD, Madden Meiners always knew he wanted to be a filmmaker. Through editing the documentary Dugout Canoes for the Cape Fear Museum, Madden gained valuable insight into how to visually tell a story. An internship at Silver Pictures on the Warner Bros. studio lot gave him access to see how movies are produced. These positive experiences encouraged him to learn more about the industry, and upon graduating from UNCW landed a role on One Tree Hill as the lead's basketball double. He made use of his time on set to shadow numerous directors, and during his downtime co-produced the sports documentary For Keeps and was the film's director of photography. The documentary was accepted into Wilmington's Cucalorus Film Festival, and gave Madden the confidence to continue making films. To make ends meet and gain more production experience, he worked within the video and camera departments on a couple feature films shot locally in Wilmington. His next project, the short-film Cat Show earned a small cult-following online for its humorous portrayal of cats and their owners (he himself is one) at an actual event. Since then he has produced, directed and even performed in various low-budget commercials and web-videos, with the latest being "From The Yard to The Garden," an ESPN 30 For 30 mock-short about former basketball legend LemonJello Smiff. Currently, Madden lives in Wrightsville Beach where he continues to write, produce, and direct short films and online content.
